Self-portraits in a multidisciplinary way

-

Lique Schoot is a contemporary conceptual artist who since her graduation in 1997, deals with the self-portrait in a multidisciplinary way.
She shows her own life in an authentic way in pictures and fits in well with artists like Nan Goldin and Cindy Sherman.

Since October 2003 she makes a photo of herself every day, using a hand held film containing camera. The photos are worked on the computer and stored in her Visual Diaries.

These diaries are not only a major autonomous work of art, but also form the basis for her paintings and other works. They all are forming an endless series of abstract and timeless images that above go about vulnerability and emotion.
